Bi-stretch iron-on interfacing is a type of fabric interfacing that is designed to provide support and structure to stretchy fabrics. It is applied to the wrong side of the fabric using heat from an iron, which activates the adhesive on the interfacing and bonds it to the fabric. This helps to prevent stretching and distortion during sewing or garment construction. Bi-stretch iron-on interfacing is particularly useful for projects involving stretchy fabrics such as knits or jersey, as it helps to maintain the fabric's shape and stability.
Easy to use: Place the iron-on fabric with the adhesive side upward and then place the fabric you want to attach it to on top of iron on fabric. Make sure the fabrics are aligned properly. Press the iron onto the fabric, applying firm and even pressure. Move the iron in a slow, circular motion to ensure even heat distribution for 15-20 seconds. Avoid using steam during this process. Allow the fabric to cool completely before handling. This will ensure that the adhesive sets properly. Once cooled, lift the fabric and check if the iron-on fabric has adhered properly. If not, reapply heat for a few more seconds. DO NOT IRON DIRECTLY ON TO THE BI-STRETCH FABRIC.
Remember to always test a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric before applying the iron-on fabric to ensure compatibility and desired results.
